The Western Cape Rowing Indoor Championships took center stage at the SISSA high performance center on Saturday, 16 November 2024. The event brought together a diverse group of competitors, ranging from under-12s to over-50s, with representatives from schools, clubs, universities, and even non-rowers eager to test their stamina on the ergometer.

The highlight of the day was the mixed relay races, where teams of four—comprising both boys and girls—competed in an exhilarating 2km challenge. The open relay category was won by the composite coach’s team, featuring two Peninsula Girls Rowing Club coaches and a SACS coach, who delivered an impressive performance to claim victory.

The inclusive nature of the event saw parents, supporters, and Western Cape Rowing Committee members joining in the fun, with many trying their hand at the ergometer for the first time. The supportive atmosphere and sense of community were evident throughout the day.
