The Cape Town Sport Council recently hosted a training workshop for its member federations on the use of the WCPSC Federation Admin Portal, with more than 40 federations represented at the session.
Facilitated by Cape Town Sport Council Secretary Ms Janine du Toit, the workshop focused on helping members better understand the various functions available on the online portal and how to effectively manage and update their federation information. The training covered the registration and login process, updating organisational details, uploading compliance documents and making use of the various administration tools available on the system.
A major component of the workshop focused on the digital Sports Transformation Scorecard, one of the key features of the WCPSC Federation Admin Portal. The scorecard, which was pioneered by the Western Cape Provincial Sport Confederation (WCPSC) and has been in operation for a number of years, is aligned to the National Sport Transformation Charter and provides a structured mechanism for federations to measure and report on their transformation progress.
Federations are required to capture their annual transformation targets during January each year and then submit their achievements during December, allowing for a year-end comparison between planned targets and actual performance.
Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many members indicating that the system was much easier to use than they had initially anticipated. Members noted that the process of registering, logging in and capturing information was straightforward and easy to understand.
Additional explanations were provided on maintaining federation records, including contact details, compliance documentation and other important organisational information. According to feedback received during the session, many attendees were particularly impressed by the portal’s colour-coded design and user-friendly layout, which makes navigating the various sections simple and intuitive.
The WCPSC Federation Admin Portal continues to play an important role in supporting good governance, compliance and administration within sporting federations across the Western Cape. Through ongoing training and support initiatives such as this workshop, the Cape Town Sport Council is helping member federations maximise the benefits of the platform while ensuring that organisational information and transformation reporting remain current and accurate.
