The Western Cape Provincial Sport Confederation held their second annual Sport Appreciation Gala Dinner on Saturday.
This prestigious event, held at the Century City Conference Centre & Hotel in Cape Town,
pays homage and honours all sport administrators in the Province.

The event saw federations from across the six districts including Central Karoo, Cape Winelands, Cape Town, Overberg and Eden come together in celebration of relentless efforts and countless hours which all administrators devote to their respective sport.
WCPSC President, JP Naude, gave praise to the sport administrators, both past and present, making special mention of those officials who do not always get the recognition that they so rightfully deserve.
“This is a very special event for all of you in this room, “Mr Naude added. “As custodians for sport in the Province, the Western Cape Provincial Sport Confederation wishes to thank each and every one of you here and those who couldn’t make it tonight. This is an evening where we wish to celebrate you, the sports administrators.”
SASCOC board member, Dr Debbie Alexander welcomed the federations and districts along with a few words of encouragement while the MEC for Cultural Affairs and Sport in the Western Cape, Minister Anroux Marais, congratulated each of the federations and their administrators.
In addition to certificates of appreciation, a lifetime achivement award handed over to Mr Dave van der Walt.
A total of 56 different sport codes joined in and celebrated each other for a memorable evening
