Western Cape Climbing recently made waves at the South African National Climbing Federation (SANCF) Nationals, held at CityROCK Pretoria from 21 to 23 September 2024. The team delivered an exceptional performance, dominating across multiple categories and earning numerous medals in Lead, Boulder, and Speed climbing disciplines.
Among the standout athletes was Jessica Fitschen, who was crowned Youth C National Champion in both Lead and Boulder categories, securing double gold. The team’s success extended beyond individual achievements, as Western Cape Climbing emerged as one of the top-performing teams at the event.
Western Cape Climbing won 75% of all Lead Gold Medals and took home 47% of all podium medals in Lead. In Boulder, the team secured 67% of the Gold Medals and 42% of the podium finishes. In the Speed discipline, Western Cape Climbing won 2 Gold Medals, with all 4 speed athletes reaching the podium.
This strong showing reflects the dedication and talent within Western Cape Climbing, further solidifying their position as one of the premier climbing teams in the country.
