Fish Hoek Dominates at Lifesaving Nipper Competition in Hout Bay

The first Lifesaving Nipper Competition of the season took place on Sunday, 17 November 2024, at Hout Bay, drawing around 290 young competitors from the Western Cape. Athletes from ages 9 to 14 showcased their skills in a variety of events, including the surf swim, bodyboard races, Malibu board challenges, and the exciting beach flags sprint.

Fish Hoek Surf Lifesaving Club emerged as the dominant force, securing the top spot with an impressive total of 657 points. They were followed by Big Bay with 376 points, while Llandudno clinched third place with 334 points.

The competition, known for testing the strength, endurance, and water safety skills of young lifesavers, marks the start of a thrilling season. The high turnout and competitive spirit displayed by the nippers promise an exciting lineup of events in the coming months.
