Western Cape Disability Sport Multi-Code Classification Foundation Course

The Western Cape Provincial Sport Confederation strongly encourages all sport federations in the Western Cape to attend Day One of the Multi-Code Classification Foundation Course hosted by SASAPD on 25 March 2026 at Paarl School in Brackenfell.

This free course provides federations with a valuable opportunity to better understand classification within the disability sport space. Classification is fundamental to ensuring fair and meaningful competition, and the session will unpack how athletes are assessed, grouped and deemed eligible within Para Sport structures.

Day One is specifically aimed at coaches, administrators and sport leaders, creating space for open discussion and practical understanding. Federations will be able to engage directly, ask questions and gain clarity on how classification principles can be applied within their own sporting environments.

Disability sport is inclusive by nature, and all federations should be considering how they create equal opportunities for athletes with disabilities. Understanding classification is an essential step toward building accessible, equitable and well-governed sport structures.

Attendance is on a first come, first served basis, and federations are encouraged to secure their place early.
