Note: Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups, in line with the Employment Equity Act.

Positioning:

This position caters for a one year EPWP internship for a 2 x sports administrators at the WCPSC head office as well as the Cape Town Metro in relation to the Cape Town Sport Council area. 
Multiple individuals will be selected on the basis of the number of positions required at the time.

Applicants will be stationed at the WCPSC HQ or
Federation locations where required or
DCAS local offices where required.

Job Purpose

The Western Cape Provincial Sport Confederation (WCPSC), in partnership with the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS), is seeking to employ suitably qualified individuals who will work as Office Administration Support staff at the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 18 – 35

  • Driver’s License

Key Performance Areas

  • Promoting, coordinating, and organizing EPWP activities within Sport Federations
  • Assisting Sport Federations with administration and marketing
  • Liaising with clubs, sport federations, local and district sport councils, sport promotion structures, and local authorities
  • Promoting mass participation in sport and clubs
  • Assisting with the establishment of sports clubs within the district

Competencies / Skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A thorough understanding of sport administration and federations
  • Good organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Understanding of the socio-economic dynamics of the province and the country
  • Basic computer skills
  • Conversant in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape
