Team Western Cape delivered an outstanding performance at the Inaugural Mzanzi Interprovincial Chess Championship, showcasing their dominance on the chessboard. Competing against top talent from across the country, the team not only earned numerous individual awards but also excelled in the team events, achieving six gold medals, one silver, and six bronze across the 14 sections they competed in. The tournament took place from 15th to the 19th of December 2024 at the Ranch Protea Resort in Polokwane, Limpopo.

These incredible results earned Western Cape the title of National Champions, with the province being declared the Overall Winners of the championship. This remarkable accomplishment is a testament to the dedication, skill, and teamwork of the players and their unwavering commitment to excellence.
