Western Cape Fencing breaking ground in Eden district

This past weekend, Eden Fencing, under the leadership of Western Cape Fencing President Randall Daniels, hosted its third ranking competition of the year at Curro School in Eden, Mossel Bay. It was a special occasion, as it marked the first time in years that the club had the opportunity to compete in this scenic coastal town, making the event even more memorable for all involved.

Fencers from various regions took part, with competitors traveling from as far as Port Alfred and Port Elizabeth to join the action. The competition was fierce, and the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. The venue at Curro School provided an excellent setup that catered well to both competitors and spectators, enhancing the overall experience.

The event was supported by the Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, adding to the significance of the competition. Fencers exhibited outstanding sportsmanship and skill, with some traveling significant distances to participate, highlighting their dedication to the sport.

This competition was a proud moment for the club, marking a significant step in re-establishing Mossel Bay as a key location for fencing in the region. The Western Cape Sports Confederation and Eden Fencing are optimistic about the continued growth of the sport in the Eden district, building on the success of this event.
