POST: Operational Support – (Contract post until 31 March 2029)

DURATION: 1 April 2026 – 31 March 2029 (3yr contract)
SALARY: R14 357.80 per month (includes 37%)

Job Purpose:
The Western Cape Provincial Sport Confederation (WCPSC), in partnership with the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS), is seeking to employ suitably qualified individuals who will work as Operational Support staff at the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF
- Minimum of 2 years appropriate operational experience relevant to the KPA’s
Key performance areas
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Capturing of data and statistical information.
- Analyzing of captured data and statistical information.
- Compile reports of captured data and statistical information.
- To support and develop a strong working relationship with stakeholders
- To coordinate data collection and ensuring compliancy by all clubs, federations and sport councils.
- Render an effective filing and record management service manually and electronically.
- Assist with monitoring and evaluation.
- Collating data analytics and quarterly APP reports.
Competencies
Knowledge and experience of the following:
- Ability to interpret and implement policies:
- Must be able to read and understand statistical data;
- Good written and verbal communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape;
- Must be comfortable to communicate with internal and external stakeholders;
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines;
- Must have excellent report writing skills;
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel;
Furthermore, the successful candidate will be required to:
- Be based at the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport Head Office in the Cape Town CBD area.
- Work a minimum of Forty (40) hours per week.
- Work primarily Mondays to Fridays, as per the requirements of the programme, as well as operational requirements over some weekends by agreement.
- Assist with monitoring and evaluation.
- Travel to districts across the province when required to conduct monitoring and evaluation.
- Take responsibility for relevant administration and reports.
- Execute any other relevant operational requirement.
It will be expected of the candidates to be available for selection interviews on a date, time and place determined by the Western Cape Provincial Sport Confederation, in partnership with the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport.
